Greece Travels

Athens in a rainy day

Greece was always one of the countries we always wanted to visit! And Athens was also at the top of our choices due to all its history!

We were always in love with the Greek Civilization and the Greek Mythology so it was a dream come true to visit the city of Athens.

Athens is the capital city of Greece and it’s one of the oldest cities in the world.

It is believed that the city Athens gave its name to Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and warfare. There’s a lot of monuments in the city dedicated to her.

In the classical era, Athens was a centre for the arts and philosophy with great names as Plato and Aristotle and the birthplace of democracy.

The most important monument of the city is definitely the Acropolis. Besides this, we also visited the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Panathenaic Stadium, Zappeion Hall and the Parliament.

Going to the Acropolis was dream that we had for such a long time and finally being able to be there was something we cannot explain! There’s a lot of walking but it was all worth it!

In the Acropolis we saw buildings such as the Parthenon, the Erechtheum, the Propylaea and the Odeon of Herodes Atticus.

When we were seeing the Parthenon, it started to rain and there were thunders so we thought that Zeus was mad about something! It was such a hot day and suddenly everything changed!

But it will be an experience we will never forget!
