Inspiring garden in the middle of Porto – Botanical Garden

Porto Botanical Garden is a botanical garden in the gardens of the Andresen House, in Porto.

In 1985,  João Henrique Andresen bought this estate and remodeled the gardens with a romantic style that was popular at the time. One very famous portuguese writer lived here, Sophia de Mello Breyner Adresen.

Nowadays, the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto manages the Botanic Garden.

This Botanic Garden includes an historical garden with three distinct parts, two ponds, greenhouses and so many collections of different plants, flowers and trees.

The historical garden has three disctint parts that you can see in the pictures. There is the Rose Garden, the J Letter Garden and the Fish Garden.

This is such a beautiful place to visit and enjoy during a sunny day. If you want to appreciate true beauty and be surrounded by nature, this is the place for you!
